The typical lifespan for the pieces we create is between two to five years. Much like shoes, different people wear through their pieces at varied paces. This client- pictured wearing his latest piece- wore his first prosthetic hand from us for a whopping twelve years! His original piece was still in relatively good condition. Though, in time, his remaining arm had changed and the piece no longer fit well. Although we can’t guarantee the lifespan of a specific piece, it’s encouraging to hear about cases like this.
